Fabio Sargentini's Penthouse
In order to implement his innovative, dynamic, open and performative vision of how to put on an exhibition, in 1968 Sargentini opened the famous garage in via Beccaria to the public, the first literally underground artistic space in Italy. It wasn't designed to house exhibitions, but as a place which in itself was able to inspire new creative solutions, open to contamination and interference from other disciplines , from art and music to dance and theatre.
